LESKO FAMILY "Part of the Osher Initiative for California Community College Students"

Late San Marcos resident Mary Lesko set up a significant endowment to provide scholarship assistance to students enrolled in the Nursing Program at Palomar College. Mary states “It takes a special person to be a nurse and to want to help others. I wanted to do what I could do- I feel like my mission in life has been to take care of others.”
This scholarship is part of the Osher Initiative for California Community College students.
In May 2008, the Osher Foundation made a historic $25 million lead gift endowment pledge to the California Community Colleges and committed additional matching dollars for amounts raised for new Palomar College scholarship programs.
Must have completed at least 24 units of degree-applicable study
- Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 units at Palomar College in Spring, Fall and Spring (if 4th semester nursing student)
- Must have qualified for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) in Spring, Fall and Spring (if 4th semester nursing student)
- Must have a valid FAFSA on file
- Must be currently enrolled in the Palomar College Nursing Program
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
